Unlike many Asian moms, my mom does not have that sixth sense that signals her when fruits are not sweet. When she picks out fruit, it is about 65% hit and 35% miss. In this case, it is definitely the latter. So, to save these bland and soggy apples, I made them into the most comforting breakfast, snack, or dessert.
These are basically 10-minute apple pies because I am too lazy to make the crust. It delivers everyone’s favorite elements from the classic apple pie such as the cinnamony aroma, warm and soft apples, and crisp yet chewy oats. This is simply a million times better because it takes a million minutes less.
