Vegan Asian Glazed Pork Lettuce Wraps

Many people hold the notion that vegan dishes are bland and unsatisfying. The term is often associated with strictly eating raw fruits, beans, and vegetables; however, these presumptions have already been proven false countless times before. Today, I will be adding another piece of evidence to certify that plant-based dishes can be as satiating as regular meals. This is a very simple recipe to make, so I hope that it can help others who may not have the time to make the more time-consuming popular vegan dishes.

People have different reasons for adopting a vegan diet, but one of the more common explanations is that it ultimately reaps benefits for the earth’s environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions that come from the production of meat and dairy products and preventing livestock abuse. One cannot shift entirely to a vegan lifestyle overnight. Nonetheless, having a plant-based meal once in a while can help everyone’s effort collectively grow to create a much larger impact on the preservation of the world’s natural magnificence.

Recipe

Yields 3-4 servings

Ingredients

Lettuce

1 pound vegan pork substitute (I used OmniPork)

2 tablespoons oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

4 tablespoons onions, diced

2 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 teaspoon lime juice

1 red chili pepper, sliced

Green onions for garnish

Procedure

  • Heat the oil in a medium pan.

  • Sauté the garlic and onion until fragrant.

  • Add the vegan mean and cook it for around 5 to 7 minutes.

  • Add the sauce, sugar, lime juice, and chili into the pork.

  • Once done, transfer into another dish and garnish with green onions.

  • Scoop some into a lettuce leaf enjoy!
